Ka Pai Kaiti was formed in 2000 by a group of Kaiti residents who wanted to make Kaiti an even better place to live in.
The group consisted of a wide range of people of different ages, cultures, iwi, faiths and professions. The thing they were, and still are, committed to, was improving the community they love and live in.
In 2002 the Ka Pai Kaiti Trust was established as a charitable legal entity, in 2008 the organisation was registered with the Charities Commission.
Trustees volunteer for their positions and provide governance, advice and expertise to the management of projects and activities of the organisation.
The objectives for which the Trust was established are:
a. To promote educational opportunities for people in Kaiti including workshops, public education campaigns, training programmes, community research projects and;
b. To promote the relief of all forms of poverty in Kaiti through projects and initiatives that help residents of Kaiti identify and constructively address the causes of poverty;
c. Any other charitable purpose of the Trust.
